In the 1st session, counselor will examine your dependence types whether it is physical, psychological or social and will also asses your personality so that he can suggest the right techniques to quit. He will ask you to try few of them and come for next session. Assessing your personality is done because what works for one person will not work for the other person.
In the 2nd session, with the right techniques found you would have reduced the number of cigarettes/alcohol intake/number of hours on gadgets. If not, re-evaluation of the techniques will be done. Whatever works will have to be done for further reduction of cigarettes.
In the 3rd session, the intake of substance/usage of gadgets would have significantly been reduced. If it is zero, lapse/relapse prevention strategies will be discussed.
4th and 5th sessions are for follow-ups and ensure the maintenance of the new behaviour and no triggers can make you smoke again.
