Popular Question 1: Will the internship be practical? Will I be able to observe a real counseling session?
We offer this internship as a Training in a batch. The reason behind why we offer it in such as way and why not allowing to work under a Counsellor to observe the sessions is given here: When we provided internship that would give opportunity to observe the clients’ sessions, 99% of clients did not give consent for the interns to observe the session as the clients were concerned about confidentiality since they come to meet the counselor after researching about the credibility of the counselor and they do not know anything about the interns.

Thus interns had to wait for many days to observe a single counselling session. That’s when we conceived the training programme with real counselling sessions. We do not do mock sessions or role play in our training. You will observe 3 counseling sessions at least. You can use them for your case studies. You may search in the Google Reviews with the term “Internship” and you will get the reviews of the people.

In clinical settings where patients suffer from severe psychological disorders may not bother interns sitting and observing the session as they may not be in touch with reality but our clients are normal and they just have day-today issues. That is why it is very rare to get consent.

Popular Question 2: Why is it not free? Why do you charge?
We will charge you for the internship. The reason behind charging you for internship is as follows: We understand that the very reason behind joining as an intern is to get the practical exposure. We make sure that you get it. We would train you with all the necessary skills. We would like to you to respect and compensate our time and efforts. We do not ask our interns to do any work for us.

If you join an organization where they provide free internship, you may have to do whatever work you are given and you may not be able to choose what you want to learn. They may even give data entry job which is no way directly related to counselling. If such a thing happens, you may get a certificate saying you did internship but the purpose of getting the practical exposure would not be met.
